The word photography translates from Latin—
to writing with light.
Publishing is about more than putting pixels on paper:
At Blinding Visuals, we curate books that act as portable galleries—beautiful, large-format objects that bring visual stories directly into the hands of readers.
By leveraging modern logistics, pre-order platforms, and distributed printing technology, our publishing model breaks down traditional barriers.
-
Partner
We onboard authors, set terms, and define the scope of the project—aligning on a shared vision that guides the work from start to finish.
-
Prepare
We work with authors to gather written essays and sequence their visual art. Our editorial team curates both digital and physical proofs, refining layout, pacing, and narrative flow—then submitting them for final author approval.
-
Promote
We launch every project through a Kickstarter pre-order campaign. As Peak Design’s founder, Peter Dering, explains, crowdfunding brings people closer to the creative process. Even after a decade of success, Peak Design continues to use Kickstarter to stay community-oriented. Similarly, we support each author with campaign launch—so they can involve their community from day one.
-
Print
We print with gallery-grade precision using offset technology on Heidelberg presses, paired with 157gsm coated paper. The result: richly detailed, beautifully bound books that honor the work inside.
-
Publish
Each title is formally published in the U.S. with a registered ISBN and added to our catalog. We also handle any required international registrations—and distribute globally through aligned online and retail channels, placing your book where it can be accessed.
Two gallery formats.
One streamlined model.
Zero barriers to publish.
We offer two book formats: a bold 26×36 cm size for work that demands scale, and a new 12.9×18 cm format debuting this year—small, tactile, and intimate.
Authors choose vertical or horizontal layouts based on what best serves their vision.
Our unfair advantage? We use traditional offset printing for both formats—something typically leveraged only by large publishers with major funding and high-volume runs.
Print-on-demand can’t compete with the scale, feel, or quality traditional publishers leverage. We are bringing that same publishing standard to a new era of authors.
With our modern process and publishing system, we make it possible for independent artists and authors to Write With Light.
